I’ve never been a costume fan. My highest level of effort was as Kurt Cobain for a mandated costumes-only party in college: flannel plaid button-down, faded jeans, converse high-tops and stringy blonde hair. In other words, exactly what I wore every day in college. And, why buy a costume that you wear once? Wear these non-costume costumes year-round.
1. Sunset in Cali
Take advantage of Fall’s bright color trend with a gradated sunset look.
Classic, smooth, chill. I’m sorry but Sexy Nurse outfits just can’t compare.
3. The Lite Brite From Stranger Things
Because: 1) Stranger Things season 4 introduced a new generation to the Lite Brite. 2) Piling on brights in a random manor is always a good idea. Extra points for a Walkman with a Kate Bush cassette.
4. An Egg and Cheese Sandwich
I can imagine Pete Davidson in this look. I cannot imagine Pete Davidson in a pirate costume.
5. The Day After Halloween: Empty Candy Wrappers
A take on A Christmas Carol, you can be Halloween Future. Plus, tin-foil shiny metallics are worth the investment.
