Did it start with Bridgerton or Bella Hadid? Who knows, but one thing’s certain: The corset has become the staple/statement-maker in our wardrobes. If you’re new to the trend, corsets offer fun structure to any outfit and contour to your shape. The key is to layer it for more conservative styles (and yes, it’s work appropriate , see below) and let it be the hero piece for more casual or evening looks. We know it’s an intimidating item to build into your closet, so we created some outfit inspiration for you plus some styling tips on the side.

Conservative
To try the trend, pair a corset with jeans. Loose is great, not only for comfort but to balance out the tight fit of the bustier. To dress it up a notch throw on a blazer. Depending on your preference you can opt for a more casual shoe but clogs are great in this outfit to offer some height and sophistication while still remaining comfortable. Toss in a pair of earrings to complete the look. Keep it all simple and let the bustier be the star.

Paired with low-rise
Pair a longer length bustier with low rise jeans to accentuate the waist. To dress it down for daytime, we love these adorable white Mary Janes, below. For a touch of casual elegance, drop earrings and a pony will accentuate neck and shoulders even more.

Date Night/Evening out
This romantic pink bustier, below, with black and white accents gives a dramatic contrast for evening. For a night out, we love an A-line mini that emphasizes the contours of the shape. For this look, keep the accessories simple and coordinated.
